Coming Soon to a Library Near You…Teen Summer Reading 2008… Metamorphosis!
The Newport Public Library teen summer reading program will begin registration on June 30 and continue through August 4. The program will run from July 7 through August 8. Teens are required to read 8 books in these five weeks and turn in a teen summer reading book form. All teens that complete the program will qualify for our final pizza party and the chance to win an iPod shuffle. Weekly programs will be held Thursdays teaching teens to metamorphose themselves and their world. Programs include creating origami paper stars, turning used soda cans into personable characters, PS2 game day, duct tape creations, and digital photo manipulation. A completed book form is your entry ticket to all programs. Programs are free and include refreshments. Supplies, except digital photos, supplied by the library. For each book form turned in, teens will get a chance at our grab bag of goodies and a raffle ticket for our weekly raffle drawings. Each drawing will give away one coupon for a large Dominos pizza. Additional raffle tickets can be earned by writing longer book reviews.
On-line participation in the reading program and raffle drawings is available. For further information or to sign up, see our website www.newportlibraryri.org/KTB/TSRP08.cfm, our Summer Reading brochure (available at the library) or contact our young adult librarians, Ms. Kathy or Ms. Becky, in the library, at 401-847-8720 ext. 206, or at nptya@newportlibraryri.org.
We’d love to see you there!
