Wednesday Club

CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES!

The Wednesday Club is back in action beginning, Wednesday, September 10. We will meet from 3:30-4:30 in the library's program room.

We will start of with a planning meeting and conduct contract which must be read and signed by all participants. Then we will finish off the day with a game or two of Bingo, including PRIZES. As always, snacks will be provided.

Registration is required this year.

Breaking Dawn Event!

Come celebrate the release of Stephenie Meyer's BREAKING DAWN at the Newport Public Library.

All Newport Teens who love, like or are simply interested in learning more about Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series of books are invited to the Newport Public Library program room on Wednesday, September 3, from 5:00-6:30 for a Breaking Dawn release party. Groups of teens are invited to put on skits depicting their favorite scene from any of the books - not required - and all teens are invited to come in costume - appropriate for a library setting. Vampirish snacks will be provided.

Wednesday, August 27, from 3:30-5:30, in the Newport Public Library children’s program room, teens wishing to present skits at the September 3 party are invited to a skit planning meeting. You may come in a group or individually. Groups will be formed and/or added to at the meeting. Once formed, groups will choose a favorite scene and make plans to act it out. Registration and a photo release are required.

Summer Reading Program Event

Our final event for the Summer Reading Program is the Pizza Party and iPod shuffle raffle. You must qualify to attend this event by reading at least 8 books in the last 5 weeks. Qualified participants have received an e-mail invitation. Please check your in box if you are unsure as to whether or not you qualify.

Eight of our fifteen participants will be attending. Congratulations! We look forward to seeing you all there.

Summer Reading Pizza Raffle Winner

Our final Summer Reading weekly raffle winner is Abijah Ralph.

She wins a coupon for a large two topping pizza at Domino's Pizza. Coupons can be picked up at the Young Adult desk at the library between 1pm and closing on week days.

Congratulations Abbey!

This was our fifth and final drawing. Abbey and 7 other summer reading program participants have qualified for our final pizza party on Thursday, August 14.

Summer Reading Thursday Activity

Metamorphose Yourself and Your World!

Our last Thursday activity for the Summer Reading program is Altered Photos. Bring a photo of yourself on disk or e-mail it to nptya@newportlibraryri.org and learn what you can do with it. Come play with us!

We will meet Thursday, August 7, in the Newport Public Library Program Room from 3:30-4:30. Refreshments and computers provided.
