Your Opinion Counts!
The Rhode Island Teen Book Award Committee has just posted its list of the 20 best teen titles published between 2006-2008. Now they are looking for your vote to determine the number 1 title.
The award committee is a joint project of the Rhode Island Education Media Association (RIEMA) - your teachers probably belong - and the Rhode Island Library Association (RILA) - your newport librarians belong. Their goal is to promote quality literature by highlighting well-written and interesting books for teens 12-18 years old. And yes, your teachers will let you use these books for book reports and other appropriate papers or presentations.
To vote, you must read - or have read - at least 3 of the books on the list. Then come to the library, pick up your ballet from our display in the young adult department and return the completed form to one of our friendly young adult librarians. All votes must be in before February 13th.
See our teen reads website for an annotated list of the nominated books.
Thanks for playing!
