Join the Young Adult Librarians throughout the month for a mini-reading club celebrating audiobooks, playaways and movies. Teens are encouraged to watch or listen to a combination of 3 non-print books or movies (limit 1 movie) during the month and submit review forms to the Young Adult librarians. Participants who complete all 3 will be entered into a raffle drawing for a $5 gift certificate to the Newport Creamery. The winner will be announced on our blog. Review forms can be downloaded here or picked up at the library.
On March 30, the Young Adult Librarians will be holding X-Box Games day in the Library Program room, preregistration is required. Games will begin at 5pm and run until 6pm.
We will open our new homework center this month. One computer will be devoted to homework only. It will highlight our homework help page and databases and will allow teen patrons unlimited access to Ask.RI’s great resource, Live Homework Help. Helpful reference resources will be placed near the computer and some useful supplies such as rulers, pens, paper and a calculator will be provided. The ribbon cutting ceremony for our new Teen Homework Center will take place at 6pm on March 30, directly following the X-Box games.
